This weekend, we stepped up the work aggressively and for good reason. Banjul has been extremely busy, and our teams responded by intensifying coverage across the streets that needed it most.
Major attention was given to commercial areas, including zones around the garages, banks, shops, and other business hubs where daily activity generates significant waste. Teams worked through these corridors, clearing litter, restoring order, and ensuring these high-traffic areas were left clean and presentable.
Alongside the physical cleaning, teams also carried out sensitization and firm warnings to shop owners and business operators, reminding them of their responsibility to maintain cleanliness around their premises and to use proper waste disposal methods. The message was clear: keeping Banjul clean is a shared duty. The response from the public has been noticeable, and the impact is visible across the city.
