The Banjul Cultural Festival was officially opened today at the Never Again Arch by His Excellency, the Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia, Muhammed B.S. Jallow.
Representing Her Worship the Lord Mayoress, Rohey Malick Lowe, the Deputy Mayor of Banjul, Aziz Dabakh Gaye, delivered a brief welcome statement as the capital gathered in celebration.
The programme featured remarks from the Honourable Minister of Tourism and Culture, Abdoulie Jobe, and was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Seedy Njie, alongside other distinguished dignitaries.
The opening ceremony was marked by vibrant cultural displays, setting the tone for a week of music, dance, and shared heritage.
Banjul City Council extends its sincere appreciation to all partners and stakeholders whose continued support strengthens and sustains the cultural life of our capital. Banjul remains a city where culture is preserved, diversity is celebrated, and religious tolerance is lived daily uniting our people in peace, pride, and shared identity.
