Urban Youth-Led Cleaning System Project Banjul

Today marked the first official morning of operations under the Urban Youth-Led Cleaning System Project. As early as sunrise, our newly engaged youth reported across their designated zones with purpose, discipline, and a clear sense of duty, sweeping streets, clearing public spaces, collecting waste, supporting tricycle operations, and injecting fresh energy into Banjulโ€™s sanitation efforts.
Across the city, teams worked with unity and determination, embodying exactly what this initiative stands for: youth empowerment, civic responsibility, and a renewed commitment to a cleaner, safer, and more dignified Banjul. Their presence on the ground this morning was more than service; it was a strong statement from our young people that they are ready to take ownership of their environment and ready to show leadership through daily action and consistency.
We commend every participant who reported early and delivered with dedication on Day One. This is only the beginning, and with discipline, teamwork, and pride in their roles, the impact will grow across every street, ward, and community.
