This morning at Sandika Albert Market, work continued under the Council’s new market waste management system. The site has now been fully cleared, and there is no longer any waste dumping allowed as we work on repurposing the area.
All market waste is now rediverted daily to the main gate at 6 PM for proper collection by the cleansing teams. A compactor truck, as seen, remains on standby during the day at Sandika as a contingency, while sensitization with market users continues to ensure smooth adoption of the new system.
Step by step, together with the people of Banjul, we are making our city cleaner and more organized.
