Her Worship, the Lord Mayoress, Ajaratou Rohey Malick Lowe, is currently representing Banjul and The Gambia on the global stage at the Global Women in Finance Leadership Summit in Chicago, USA, invited as a special guest and speaker.

The summit, convened by Dr. Olivier Kamanzi of the Africa Global Chamber of Commerce and Northeastern Illinois University, brings together leaders in finance, technology, and industry under the theme: “Moving Forward Together: Women Nurturing Wealth and Leading Generations.”

In her address, Her Worship is highlighting the importance of redefining wealth beyond profit margins, emphasizing that true wealth lies in nurturing families, communities, ideas, and enterprises. She underscores that the ability to invest with care, foresight, and resilience is one of Africa’s greatest economic assets.

The Council commends Her Worship for consistently showcasing Banjul’s vision on the global stage, sharing valuable insights on women’s leadership, inclusive growth, and international cooperation. Her participation reflects Banjul’s commitment to shaping dialogues that inspire progress and prosperity at home.
