In a significant move towards environmental sustainability, Hon. Aziz Dabakh Gaye, Deputy Mayor of Banjul City Council, is representing the Lord Mayor and Banjul City Council as part of a high-level Gambian delegation visiting Ghana. Led by Hon. Rohey John-Manjang, Minister of Environment, Climate Change, and Natural Resources, the delegation is engaging with key organizations to enhance waste management strategies across The Gambia.
The team is collaborating with J.A. Plant Pool, a leading supplier of heavy-duty equipment essential for waste collection and infrastructure projects, and the Jospong Group of Companies, renowned for its expertise in waste management and environmental services through its subsidiary, Zoomlion Ghana Limited. Supported by OmniBSIC Bank, which is financing efforts to enhance sustainable waste solutions, this initiative aims to inform and improve waste management strategies across The Gambia, contributing to cleaner and healthier urban environments nationwide.
The Banjul City Council extends its sincere gratitude to the Government of The Gambia for its steadfast support in this vital endeavor. Together, we aim to preserve our rich heritage while forging a sustainable path forward for our communities.
