This week in Dubai marks a remarkable milestone for the women and youth of Africa, as Her Worship the Lord Mayoress of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe, continues to represent our city and continent with distinction, purpose, and unwavering leadership.
In her capacity as President of REFELA (Network of Locally Elected Women of Africa), Her Worship engaged in high-level discussions with Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a visionary leader renowned for her dedication to philanthropy and the advancement of women.
The highlight of this historic mission was an audience with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, a global statesman and strong advocate for Africaโ€™s transformation.
Their discussions centered on strategic partnerships for economic empowerment, skills development, and sustainable growth for women and youth across Africa beginning right here in The Gambia.
This engagement stands as a clear testament that the voices of African women and youth are not only being heard but are shaping dialogue at the highest levels of international leadership.
Banjul City Council joins Her Worship in extending sincere appreciation to Their Highnesses for their generosity of spirit, and to Her Excellency Reem and her team for their exceptional organization and hospitality.
This is a proud moment for Banjul, for The Gambia, and for Africa as a whole. The seeds planted through this engagement will continue to grow, bearing fruits of opportunity and empowerment for generations to come.
